Children in El Cabrito – please pay attention to the following:

El Cabrito offers a remarkable amount of freedom to play and roam to children since it is basically a safe place. The grounds are easy to observe and they cannot really get lost. Just to be sure children – and their parents – should observe the following:

At the pier

  1. Children should not be on the pier while boats are coming and going: passengers are getting out and in, freights are loaded and unloaded, often the transport vehicle is parked there, ropes are tied across the path, boys lying around… When children come to the pier to travel themselves, please always holding and adult’s hand and following the instructions of the personnel.
  2. At other times the pier is a place for fishing and for getting into the water via a ladder. Since there are no safety precautions children should only be there accompanied by an adult.
  3. The path to the pier along the rocks – though protected - and the immediate area always bear a slight risk from falling stones, so do not loiter there unnecessarily.

On the beach

  1. Sand and pebbles get very hot in the sun – provide children with beach shoes.
  2. Please tidy up toys and loungers after use so they do not get blown or washed away.

In the bar

  1. Children under 12 years should visit the bar only accompanied by an adult since we cannot supervise them there.

In the dining area

  1. For the smooth running of the buffet service and to avoid breakage children under 9 should be in the company of an adult.
  2. During meals children should please observe peace. They can go and play in the playroom adjacent to the dining room, on the lawn or in “Kid’s country”.

On the plantation

  1. Please observe period of quiet after lunch near dwellings – some guests appreciate their "siesta".
  2. El Cabrito is a plantation with a lot of exotic fruit. By all means, help yourself to fallen fruit but please do not pick fruit off the trees and shrubs to avoid damaging them. In agreement with Brigitte children can watch harvesting – a good opportunity to learn something.

Our animals

  1. 1. Our dogs are living here for a long time, are used to children and can be stroked. Please do not feed them. They are not welcome in the dining area.
  2. Of the cats that live on the Finca some are tame and very friendly and some half wild who “earn their living”. Please do not feed either of them and do not let them into your room – and in the end they are difficult to get rid off.
  3. Our donkeys Pocholo and Castanie live in the Barranco and are rather shy. You can feed them bananas, dates and mangoes. Do not stand behind them – they kick.
  4. The goat shed is in the Barranco outside of the Finca. Please do not feed them. You can watch them being milked at about 8 o’clock in the morning.
